If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The saying's as true of the human body as it is of a washing machine or a blender. A good surgeon knows that if you go screwing around with something that doesn't need screwing, you are the one who is liable to end up screwed.
It's hard to admit when we're wrong, but even though everything looks fine, there is a problem. Something is broken and you have to see where it's going and set about fixing it or it's all going to come apart.
Se non è rotto, non lo aggiustare. Vale per il corpo umano come per la lavatrice o un frullatore. Un bravo chirurgo sa che incasini qualcosa che in realtà va bene alla fine chi va nei casini sei tu.
E' dura ammettere di aver sbagliato e che anche se sembra che tutto vada bene c'è un problema. Qualcosa si è rotto e devi capire se può peggiorare e pensare a ripararlo, se no tutto andrà in pezzi.
