2.19 - Cosa ho fatto per meritarmi questo?

Okay, so, sometimes even the best of us make rash decisions. Bad decisions. Decisions we pretty much know we're going to regret the moment, the minute, especially the morning after. I mean, maybe not regret, regret because at least, you know, we put ourselves out there. But...still. Something inside us decides to do a crazy thing. A thing we know will probably turn around and bite us in the ass. Yet, we do it anyway. What I'm saying is...we reap what we sow. what comes around goes around. It's karma and, any way you slice it...karma sucks.

Karma. One way or another it will leave us to face ourselves. We can look our karma in the eye or we can wait for it to sneak up from behind. But karma will always find us. The truth is, as surgeons, we have more chances than most to set the balance in our favor. Yet no matter how hard we try we can't escape our karma. It follows us home. I guess we can't really complain about our karma. It's not an affair. It's not unexpected. It just... evens the score. And even when we're about to do something that we know will tempt karma to bite us in the ass... well, it goes without saying. We do it anyway.


D'accordo, a volte anche i migliori prendono delle decisioni affrettate, delle decisioni sbagliate, decisioni che già sappiamo rimpiangeremo d'aver preso in quello stesso momento, in quello stesso istante e specialmente la mattina seguente.
Voglio dire, non proprio rimpiangere perché almeno, si insomma, ci si è messi in gioco. Ma in ogni modo qualcosa d'entro di noi decide di fare una follia, una cosa che sappiamo già ci si rivolterà contro mordendoci il culo, ma nonostante ciò la facciamo ugualmente.
Quello che voglio dire è che raccogliamo ciò che seminiamo. Ciò che si dà si riceve.
E' il Karma, e mettetela come volete ma il Karma è uno schifo.

In un modo o nell'altro il nostro Karma ci porta ad affrontare noi stessi.
Possiamo guardare il nostro Karma negli occhi o aspettare che ci spunti fuori alle spalle.
In un modo o nell'altro il nostro Karma ci trova sempre.
La verità è che quanto chirurghi abbiamo più possibilità degli altri di far volgere le cose a nostro favore. Non importa quanto ci proviamo, non possiamo sfuggire al nostro Karma, ci seguirà fino a casa.
...
In realtà non ci si può lamentare del proprio Karma. Non è ingiusto, non è inaspettato, diciamo che pareggia sempre i conti. E anche quando stiamo per fare qualcosa che intima chiaramente il Karma a morderci il culo ..bè nn cè bisogno che dica niente..lo facciamo comunque.
